Building products taught me to ask harder questions about the data underneath them.
- Problem
- Connecting two sides of a marketplace is easy to mock up and hard to make trustworthy — the data model decides whether the product is honest.
- Outcome
- Shipped an end-to-end product and, in the process, learned where the real constraints live: in the data, not the UI.
Why this project
Building products taught me to ask harder questions about the data underneath them. Bridder was where that lesson landed.
What I did
- Designed and built the product end to end — frontend, data model, and the matching logic that connected both sides of the marketplace.
- Made deliberate choices about what data to collect and what to leave out.
- Shipped to real users and iterated on the gap between the demo and reality.
Outcome
Bridder shipped — but the more durable outcome was the shift in how I think. The interface was the easy part; the data model was where trust, fairness, and correctness actually got decided.
